Splashpoint

Splashpoint has provided a brand new swimming, fitness and leisure complex. This new site located adjacent to the existing Aquarena, enjoys a unique seafront view. The six-lane, 25 metre main pool with moveable floor, diving teaching pool and pools with rapids, flumes provide the swimming facilities. The fitness suite has a 100 station state of the art gym with luxury health centre with sauna and steam room. A sports injury clinic and cafe are also available providing a relaxed service and environment.

Xypex was requested by the main contractor and specified by the engineer as the best solution to keep the swimming pool watertight as well as keeping the tidal waters of the English Channel at bay.

Xypex Admix was used in all water retaining and excluding structures as well as all basement areas as the sole defence. The process of application meant that the contractor had only to consider the placement of concrete allowing the crystalline matrix to form deep within the pores and capillaries to make the concrete watertight and durable within this harsh marine environment.
